The repairs to University House continue to progress well, and we’re still hopeful (albeit not certain) of a February 2026 ’soft’ reopening. As you may have seen in media reports, Vice-Chancellor Professor Genevieve Bell AO, who has a personal association with University House, inspected progress on 25 March; she reminded the hard-working builders how keen the University was to have University House reopen. The next stage of work will focus on the hotel and student accommodation rooms, following successful completion of a number of prototypes. In the courtyard, the gingko trees are again fruiting, and work to replace drainage and pathways is now underway.
