Calling all music lovers!
On the eve of the performance by the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge Concert, University House, in collaboration with Musica Viva, is hosting an intimate dinner talk by Dr Andrew Cichy, organist, musicologist and Early Career Academic Fellow at University House. Andrew will be speaking about the rich history of the Oxbridge choral foundations – of which Trinity Cambridge’s choir is a part – and the living musical tradition that they embody. Andrew will also discuss the Choir’s performance repertoire in the context of the choral and organ heritage that has developed in the college chapels of Oxford and Cambridge over more than 500 years, and its enduring relevance today.
Attendees will enjoy a 3-course dinner, glass of house wine, and tea or coffee in one of University House’s private dining rooms.
The dinner talk is the perfect accompaniment to the Concert, introducing you to the program and helping you to more deeply understand and enjoy the music. It is a special opportunity for music enthusiasts to gather and socialise in University House’s unique Oxbridge style.
