Poetry at the House: Robyn Rowland & Sarah Holland-Batt

Our next reading is on Wed July 13 at 8pm. It features Robyn Rowland,from Torquay and Ireland and Sarah Holland-Batt, from Brisbane.

Robyn Rowland lives in Australia and Ireland, and often works in Turkey. Of her nine poetry books two were published in 2015: Line of DriftDoire Press, Galway, and her bilingual This Intimate War Gallipoli/Çanakkale 1915 İçli Dışlı Bir Savaş: Gelibolu/Çanakkale 1915, Turkish translations by Mehmet Ali Çelikel, (Five Islands Press, Melbourne. and Bilge Kultur Sanat, Turkey).

Sarah Holland-Batt is the author of Aria (2008) and The Hazards (2015), and the recipient of fellowships from Yaddo and MacDowell Colonies, Hawthornden Castle, and the Australia Council’s B.R. Whiting Studio Library in Rome. She presently works as a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at QUT, and is the poetry editor of Island magazine. She is also editing this year’s Best Australian Poetry (Black Inc)

Admission (collected just before the reading starts) is $10 waged, $5 unwaged, $5 University House members.

Meals are available beforehand in the Fellows Bar and Cafe at University House from 6.30 pm.
