Poetry at the House: David Brooks and Tim Thorne

The next reading is on Wed Nov 9 at 8pm. It will feature David Brooks (from Katoomba, NSW) and Tim Thorne (from Launceston, Tasmania). Both are lively readers of their own work.

It will be in the downstairs Meetings Room (along from the Drawing Room and down the stairs (or enter from the Garran Road carpark).Please book by emailing me at this address.

David Brooks’ novel The Fern Tattoo was shortlisted for the 2008 Miles Franklin Award.  His most recent poetry collections are The Balcony (UQP 2008)and Open House. (UQP 2015). He lives in Katoomba, NSW, and recently retired from teaching at the University of Sydney where he also co-edited Southerly magazine.

The most recent of Tim Thorne‘s fourteen volumes of poems is The Unspeak Poems and other verses (Walleah Press, 2014).  He is currently putting the finishing touches to another collection, Running Out of Entropy, which will include his ‘Fukushima Suite’ which won the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize in 2014.

Admission$10 waged, $5 unwaged.
Reading starts at 8 pm.
Meals are available in its Fellows Bar and Cafe from 6.30 pm.
