A not to be missed literary event with the authors of the Secret City trilogy, Steve Lewis and Chris Uhlmann, in conversation with the Professor Hugh White from the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, ANU.
Join Steve and Chris as discuss their latest novel, The Shadow Game, which again delves into the murky world of politics and espionage, casting Canberra as a setting for underhand dealings and much intrigue.
Professor White will also probe one of the novel’s central themes, the choice facing Australia as China and the United States tussle for supremacy.
Steve Lewis has been reporting politics in Canberra since 1992 and has survived the near collapse of the Fairfax media group, three prime ministers and a career switch from The Financial Review to the News Ltd tabloids. Steve now writes freelance and works for Newgate Communications.
Chris Uhlmann is one of Australia’s best-known and most respected political broadcasters. He was editor of the Canberra Weekly before joining the ABC in 1998. As political editor for the ABC he has earned a reputation for his fearless pursuit of the nation’s politicians.
Ticket price includes main course, shared dessert platter, a glass of wine and tea/coffee.
Copies of the Secret City trilogy will available for sale and signings on the night.
