At Boffins, we like to focus on local and seasonal ingredients and there is nothing more local than the native edible plants grown for centuries on our land!
So in recognition of Naidoc week, we are looking back at the grass roots of Australian foods and marry up the Boffins menu with some added flavours of Bush peppers, Kurrajong seeds, Peppermint gum and many more. Of course still true to our ethos, everything has to be in season.
To add to the experience, we have invited Adam Shipp, Canberra’s Indigenous gardener, to join us in the experience and provide valuable insights on native foods, medicine and growing your own bush foods.

Adam Shipp has been working with Greening Australia in Aranda as the Indigenous restoration officer since 2012. He was born and raised in Canberra, spending all his school and working life here. His father is a Wiradjuri from central-west NSW; his mother is Welsh and he is proud of both his cultures. Over the years, Adam has continued to research native pants and their traditional Aboriginal uses and significance.
