Join Pulitzer Prize winning American novelist Jennifer Egan in conversation with Sarah Kanowski, to be recorded live by the ABC.
Jennifer Egan is a remarkable writer. Her latest novel, Manhattan Beach has been globally acclaimed and is the 2018 winner of the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. Manhattan Beach, Egan’s first historical novel, is an insightful, complex, and compulsive saga, a deft, startling, intimate exploration of a transformative moment in the lives of women and men, America and the world. It follows the lives of an Irish family in Brooklyn during the Great Depression and then World War II, focussing on the life of a young woman called Anna, the first female diver at the Brooklyn Naval Station.
